Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at the Hawai'i Convention Center
Twenty years ago, with the help of many concerned residents and businesses, the Waikīkī Improvement Association (WIA) held "Waikīkī 2020," a conference whose purpose was to develop planning recommendations for the future of Waikīkī. We've come a long way since then. Now, as we look back over the past 20 years and the remarkable results of that conference, WIA is bringing back Waikīkī 2020 to review what has been accomplished and to chart a course to sustain and bolster Waikiki's role as the cornerstone of Hawaii's economy over the next two decades - twenty years back, twenty years forward.
This year's 2012 Waikīkī 20/20 Conference will re-engage the community in envisioning Waikīkī's future, with the goal of establishing a template for the development of an action plan in the six to eight months following the conference. Guest speakers – a range of experts – will make presentations about the issues that will most affect Waikīkī and the surrounding community for the next generation of residents and visitors.
Mark your calendars for October 16th and join us for this year's 2012 20/20 Conference, followed by our WIA Annual meeting.
